Locking spring-loaded ??
 

Does anyone know what they call those locking spring-loaded ?? that you twist to lock that are near the cabin air filter housing (on either side of the number 4)

OEM does not show a particular part. One of mine will not lock down and I'm trying to figure out how to repair/replace

I have the exact same problem and it's not that bit you twist that's the problem, it's the bit behind that it locates into. They're not a very secure fit and will fall out quite easily.

mrbmwx5 has posted the correct part number.

Looks like a plastic/rubber washer..probably feel off underneath the cowling

I'll have to take it apart later

Never mind...I took the entire cowling off last night and found the infamous #14....

I'm having the same problem so good to know I'm not alone. Thanks for the info guys.
