Radio stopped working, potential DICE/Check control issue?

I was driving today listening to my IPOD on the DICE mediabridge and my stereo began to malfunction. I am not sure if this is related, but I notice I have a check control notification (it causes a ding sound on the audio which is why I thought it may be relevant). I pressed the button and it is low on wiper fluid. I then proceed to turn down the volume on the radio with the steering wheel and it wont turn down. I try the dash and it wont work either. I press the volume button to turn it off and it wont turn off. I park and turn the car off and the radio wont stop playing. The only way I get music to stop playing is by disconnecting the ipod. I then notice i have static from the radio every time i turn the volume knob. After 2 more minutes the static goes away and I cannot turn on the radio. I cannot eject the CD from the dash, it is completely unresponsive.

I have disconnected the 2 DICE plugs in the trunk, removed Fuse 7 from the glove box, and all 4 fuses in the trunk (70-74 I believe). After 30 minutes I put the fuses back, but the radio will still not turn on.

Any ideas? Does anyone know where any other fuses may be located?

Thanks.

UPDATE::: For those who have similar issues, I have diagnosed the problem to be with the bluetooth in the MB1500. The only way I could get the system to work was to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes. However the next day after reconnecting the Mediabridge, it would always start unresponsive (cannot turn on, change source, etc). To see if the MB1500 was frozen, I forced the bluetooth to connect from my phone. When the Bluetooth paired, the radio instantly turned on and started playing the IPOD where I left off playing the previous night. When i force disconnected the Bluetooth from the phone, the radio was unresponsive again (cannot turn on, change source, etc). I filed a bug with DICE, so I will update when I hear back.

I am not sure what the true cause is, or if i actually fixed it, but I haven't had any issues in the last month. The issue is not the bluetooth (as i previously posted). I made multiple changes which seemed to have stopped the issue, so I suggest you give them a shot and post back to verify if any of these helped.

What i did determine is the Ibus gets bus contention causing the radio to shut off. It is an active high bus, and something gets stuck pulling it down. It is not the mediabridge pulling the bus down, as when i disconnect it, the bus is still pulled down. However the mediabridge likely caused bus contention causing another system to get stuck pulling the bus down. I noticed that the issue of the radio shutting off would occur when I let my car sit for a week or two without driving it. This led me to believe that when the mediabridge is connected to the Ibus, it increases sensitivity to low voltage conditions which occur when the battery hasn't been actively charged by the alternator. I also only drive 2 miles to work every day which is a known problem for the battery not getting fully charged as noted in the BMW manual.

The following changes i made were:

1)Make sure to flash your Mediabridge has the latest software. Turn off scroll mode to reduce traffic it creates on the Ibus.

2)Try disconnecting your battery for longer, say an hour or two in case it didn't totally reset the system.

3)Meanwhile use a trickle charger to charge your battery. How old is your battery? I found the my 7 year old battery had good voltage, but when i used a load tester it performed about ~50%. I thought this could be the issue as the ibus is sensitive to low voltage conditions such as when i haven't been driving the car. I ended up replacing my battery a month ago and haven't had any issues.

4)Make sure you didnt hook up an amp for a sub and use the Ibus as the remote.

5)Check fuses 71-76 in the right rear panel of the car. After 3 months of the issue, and the same time i decided to replace my battery, the system shut off for the 5th time, however this time the 30 minute reset did not work. I noticed fuse 75 was blown. I had checked these fuses each time, so this was the first time it caused the fuse to blow. I replaced this fuse, the battery, and it has been working well since.

Good luck, the system is amazing when it is working properly.

It was a blown 75 fuse. Funny because I pulled them all earlier but somehow didn't see that 75 was blown. Pretty sure the mb did it since the mb was wigging out just before screen went black. Thanks!
