CCV gunk on my 4.4i
 

Do these pics seem normal? No issues noted and no CEL, but I was curious so I pulled out the CCV hoses and I saw this. I did end up cleaning it with cloth and pulling all the sludge out. All was just oil and no orange bubble.

I would suggest getting some new hoses, the gunk does seem normal but problem is if you do a poor
Clean job when you hook it all back up you may dislodge some bits and they go in your engine. Had this happen caused misfire but once shut off and started up it worked fine.
Just watch the build up and where you run into issues is when this freezes. Gl
