Looking to buy a Hualingan head unit
Hello -
We're looking for a Hualingan DVD/Navigation unit for our 2004 X5 (six cylinder). Searching through the postings here I found a website in China. I have been communicating with a lady there called Maggie. Is that the right way to go about purchasing a unit? Here is their website: www.dvdplayer.com.cn Thanks, Mohmd. |

I will be installing one in my 2003 in the next week or so. I will also be adding the rev cam and finding somewhere for the GPS aerial. I let you know how it goes. I only have the standard radio & CD, so I believe it's "Plug & Play"

Thanks. I've ordered mine and received a DHL tracking from Hong Kong. Let's see what happens.

Ive skimmed through a few installs but didnt see any mention of the OBC functions. Do you get to keep the OBC functionality in the new unit? or do I have to contend using the OBC with the steering wheel stalk and gauges? I have a '00 with the 4:3 Navigation

I'm not sure about the OBC. LIke you, I searched everywhere for some info, found nothing.
I did see on one of the photos of the screen an icon named "Car Setting". I'm hoping that is what I want it to be. I have a back up plan to extend the MID loom and put it in the glove box.I'll be sure to post my findings. |

There is plenty of info on the Hualingan unit, obviously u haven't used the search function because there are many posts on whether u can retain the OBC functions with these head units. Do your research, there's no need for 25 threads on freaking hualingan! |
