Vibration from the control arm

Well, I'm getting vibration from my control arm in the front drivers side, I had an OEM wheel there for a few months when I was running replicas everywhere else (long story) and it caused a failure in the control arm. My question is what failed? the Control arm or the bushings, I'd like to purchase as few a parts as I have to? Does anyone have any pics or knowledge of what exactly is failing in these control arms?

The ball joint is what fails. Here is a DIY link http://www.xoutpost.com/showarticle-106.html
