Naz, there is no comparison except i can bring the element on the beach and ride in the snow. I sold her to an enthusiast in ny. No trade in. No kds here stan lol, thank god i still have my sportscars. I still have the modbug and will customize my new honda. Thanks everyone, she was a beauty and i will see what pics i still have to unleash. So whats up with the next meet in nyc at the new beergarden? lets do it

What a change! I'm not sure how you went from that beautiful X5 to a Element/utility box is strange. Surely there were other cooler/sportier alternatives that were in the same price range.

You could always throw some BMW badges on the Element and wind up having someone here post photos of your poser Element. :nanana:

Sorry to hear.

Put some paisley camo on Element, People will take pics of it, thinking its a new BMW prototype.

Hey Justin, a good friend has one, it is very useful, and actually drives better/holds more than the pos CR-V we had. Same chassis and stuff, but better done, imo, at least compared to the '02 to current face lift CR-V, imo.

As for snow, maybe NY snow flurries and light stuff, but you may think about dedicated snow tires if you are leaving the City for upstate; the 'on demand AWD' is slow to react and a poor imitation of real AWD, except at slog speed. Trust me on this.

I wish I could have met you at one of the NY area meets...maybe someday.
And, lastly I like LeMans' idea of the paisley camo!
Don't be an MIA!

LOL, I have always liked the toaster box.

A 2011 was more reasonable in my eyes than keeping my 2001. I still have an x5 emblem that can see its way to the element since i already debadged the honda. that would be hilarious. the modbug has bit me already. honda all season floormats and cargo tray. pioneer avic in dash navigation. tinted all the windows, 18's are on there way. leather wrapped steering wheel, exhaust tip, splash guards. I really do love the element but deep in my gut there is a warm spot that is slowly growing and when it reaches my heart thats when i will pull the trigger on another bimmer, but it will most def be an M this time.

I have a friend in cali that has an element and true its no X5, but you can mod it up. Also there's a forum: Honda Element Owners Club Forum

Good luck with it and I going by what you did with your X, I know this one will turn out sweet also.

WoW! $2K for a valve cover gasket replacement? I did a valve cover gasket replacement on my E36 a few years ago. It was a 1 hour job and needed no special tools. As far as I can tell, the E53 engine is not that different. I don't see how this could be a 2 grand job. Is the gasket made out of gold?
