Interesting Ebay Items

Saw this earlier. Too bad it only fits the facelift version (according to the seller). But I bought a pair anyway since it fits my E39. Perfect fit with no errors! Way too bright though but hard to beat for $25 pair

you could put some sort of tint film over it to lower the brightness..?

I got PMs for the mirrors. I got them from here

got them in and they look good. Split mirror, heated for $100 delivered. lets see how it fits once I get to it...

06-30-2011 UPDATE:
here is an update to the mirror. Unfortunately I wasnt able do a before and after shot. but here is a picture to immediately show the difference. I will see if I can do a DIY writeup on how to replace the mirrors

I did, I put a partial electrical tape (ghetto I know, but it stands up to the heat and easier to remove). I covered about 70% of it and its still bright. Good news is it evenly illuminates the plate. but it does heat up the tape. oh well...we'll see

If someone wants to see night pics I can oblige (just need to get my tripod out)

Cool finds, let us know how functional the new mirrors are.

FYI I did a lot of research on LED license plate lights, and I ended up buying the CANBUS 8-led units from www.autolumination.com/. They're also about $25 shipped, they fit in the OEM housing, and no error/warning lights. Been working well for about 2-3 months now.

Had bad experience with autolumination years back. But they might have better stuff now

My seats dont have a first aid box. Bought a pair for E46 and to my delight fits the X
First Aid Storage Box

Great for extra storage yea!

I used to think that way too. But when the cheap bulbs I got, within months, either went dead, started to flicker, switches on then off at random times, it will eventually get to you. and when you buy from the same seller the next time, somehow the color shade will be different (bluish vs real white).

Ive bought more than 50 different pairs of LEDs for different applications and one way or the other they die:dunno:. And dont get me started with HID kits !ouch:....Im already on the side that I will pay more from better retailers

Is that exposed glue on the mirror (bottom picture, left side)? If so, they did a very poor job of putting it together.
