Front tie rod replacement
I'm ready to replace my front tie rods since both of them were seized so I couldn't get an alignment done. I am using the original boots...do I need to put any grease on the tie rods that the boot covers?
Thanks Gary |
um, inner or outer tie rods I'm confused.

That would be the inner portion of the tie rod. I just replaced mine a few days ago. There was very little, if any grease (whiteish color) on the rack or within the boot. I have no leaks and the boots are perfect so I can only assume they just needed a very light greasing. The hard part was putting the boots back on the rack. I used metal hose clamps but I think you'll find the passenger side very hard to access.

Tie rods
Thanks...I have everything dismantled to replace the axles so I have plenty of room to get the boot back on.
