Underride Guard

OK so I called several parts dealers and got a quote of $900 + for this underride guard yet the one listed on PacificBMW parts catalog is going for $499, I'm trying to figure out if this is the same thing and why the price margin is so disaligned..are there any links on how to install this? I have the 4.6 lip kits and I know for my front the shop had to glue it on so I'm wondering where this guard attachs to for support

Part No. 51-13-0-028-856

Thats for the info FeelGood..now we need someone to also find the pricing on the Sidestep bars that are applicable to X5s with running boards.

i actually had the dealer do it.. because the guard was part of the lease. But honestly it seems like it wouldnt be that hard of an install, im sure the guard comes as one piece, and u have to bolt it down to the subframe REAL TIGHT.Besides that i dont see how else itd be installed.

I ordered the gaurd from pacific bmw internet sales deptartment.
The underride gaurd is one piece and bolts directly to the subfrome. nothing bolts to the bumper cover at all. It is very long and goes all the way past the engine to about where the fire wall is. It protects the entire fron undercariage. I had a local dealer install it. It looked easy but you would need a few people to help you lift it and hold it into position while bolting it on.

Wow...it looks awesome. Never knew that this guard can be installed on a 4.8is. I always assumed that our aero lip (the lower portion of the bumper) would get in the way:dunno:

Looks like its time to start shopping:thumbup:
