Please help estimate a "good" price for this 4.8

Hi all,

I do not post much, but I do read almost everything, even if only remotely related to what I am interested in... :D This is a great forum with a lot of useful stuff.

I was hoping to get some input regarding a 2005 4.8is Black Sapphire Metalic/Black Nappa Leather with 56k miles, good maintenance records, nav, assuming excellent condition for interior/exterior. I have been looking for a while and the asking price of $27k seems high. I think $24k would be a good deal and $25k would be a fair market price. What do you all think would be a good/fair market price? This is in California.

Thanks in advance for your time and comments.

Yeah, I know, I wish I could post some but I do not have any. It's all stock and excellent condition if that helps...

I think you're low, personally. I looked for six months in preperation for buying mine. An 05 4.8is with only 56K should put you starting at around $27K and rolling up to $31K depending on private/dealer, condition, accesories, etc.

If you can wrangle one that's been maintained with proper records and had the typical bugs fixed, ie. Self Level Susp, and get it for anything under $29 at that mileage then you're doing good.

Remember, when they start getting cheap...there's ALWAYS a reason.

I would say that 27k if in good condition and that mileage is good..

I think you are pretty much correct in your estimate, 27 is a bit high. That mileage is not very high and allows for the pricing you quote. The only way 27k works if is completely up to date on maintenance. I.e new brakes and tires and/or it comes with an extended warranty, otherwise 24-25 is ok.

I paid 31k for my 2005 4.8is about a year ago. It had 42k on the odo and was CPO from a dealership. Mine sounds just like the one you're looking at for 27k. I have all options that could be included on this MY.

Good luck!

Thanks for your thoughts! I appreciate it. I guess I should have clarified that I am talking about price BEFORE taxes and fees, not sure if that is what everyone is quoting?

25K without a warranty is the most i'd pay.

Just for market views..

ive seen 100k+ sell @ 19k
and
ive seen 35k sell @ 30K

Both stayed on the market awhile.

IMO: The average 4.8is should be worth 24-25 ... People seem to add an extra 2-3k onto that for the "wow" factor.

To: Balavay, I watch the SoCal market alot and I think I know the car you are looking at, That dealer sold a 30k miler for 29k-ish (to a new member here), so it would be best to use that info and make the offer. (they have sold multipe 4.8is' in the past)

Good Luck!
