x5 is out the door.
So after 6 long months of ownership I decided to part with my x5. It has been bitter sweet owning this badboy but the repairs and gremlis are a bit more than I would like to handle at the moment. when it was in working order it was one of the funest vehicles I have ever owned, handling is magnificent to say the least not to mention the awesome power, but after forking out more in repairs than in payments its just not the right vehicle for me, wish I could keep it but I dont have any reliable transportation at the moment so its got to go. Many many thanks to all on the forums, with out you guys Im sure my repair bills would have amounted to much more.
Thanks again. Gabe. |
Sorry to hear about that. But unfortunately I'm sure you won't be the last one that has to get rid an X5 because of the unreliability of them.

Its a shame to hear another one bites the dust. But you are right when they run, they are awesome to drive. Its nice to pull up to a light and next to you is some kid with a 4 banger and trash can exhaust who thinks CAI, rims, and raspy exhaust note add 300HP. And it is always nice to see the finger fly out their window in your rear view mirror while you laugh and smile and pat the steering wheel.
My 4.4i still hauls ass and hopefully my new edition will too. 2006 Audi A6 4.2L S-line LOADED Chyeaaaaaa mannnnn!!!! in Misano Red Pearl. Oh yeah! Quattro, here I come.!!! |
yeah i feel your pain....so far so good for me...knock on wood, heck knock on a giant tree!!! but gas prices, gas consumption and the amount of driving i might be the last straw for this....and yes, prob one of the best rides i've had...i'd be said when that day comes too...

Definately a do it your selfer's vehicle. I have saved big $$ by doing the repairs myself. That is they only way I could afford keeping the X5.

OP, sorry to hear about your problem...
Knock on wood, no major issues with my CPO 2005 4.4i... besides a transmission gasket leak which was taken care of by the dealer this past Friday. I got 62k miles on this badboy and besides the 5k miles oil changes and the 60k miles break and coolant flush, I didn't spend a dime. I also have to applaud Road Side Assistance for picking my car up in the middle of Nowhere, MT and towing it 400 miles to the nearest dealer at absolutely NO charge. Truth is I had to hustle with the dealer to get the car back as they did not want to pay for reunification, but at the end it worked out fine as they ARE responsible for the first 250 miles. I hope more happy stories will be posted. |
