I think the part revision was a change in mounting systems (or as suggested manufacture?)

The left uses lateral cross bars and a mounting system like Propellerhead's unit. Where-as -mine- Right (lol) used in bar mounting.

The older one only used hex and slot mounting while the newer used 4 "prongs" and bolts that were probably easier to see. Since the subframe mounts were already in place (Coat hanger nightmares)

I'd imagine the areo version allotted a few inches up front to clear the fascia.
