For performance and some comfort get 20". For show only get 22's. I would stick with the 20's.
Also the tires are chipper for 20", you wont need to deal with spacers, and better handling with 20".
You can rotate staggered wheels. Just do it side to side instead of front to back. You can always do that as long as the tires are not directional.
Staggered looks very sporty and cool. Wider rears are usually done for more forward traction as a primary consideration which is why Porsche has such big wide rears.
That's why I would stick with 20" staggered.
