Help - Check Side Lights
 

I have a new-to-me 2005 X5, 3.0. It is my 3rd E53 in 9 years and I really like it. SEARCH isn't working now, so I'll post this without benefit of historical answers.

As soon as I turn my headlights to the ON position, my dash lights up with a CHECK SIDE LIGHTS warning message. I have checked and to my knowledge all lights in all locations are working.

Suggestions on how to find the problem?

I also have a 2005 3.0 and had the exact same issue earlier this month. Check your Angel Eyes, as I had one out, and the 2nd was on it's way out. I have since had them replaced and the message has been cleared. It's kind of an odd message, as my first instinct was to check my side markers.

Looks like the halo light is out on both the bi-xeon and high beam light. Is the bulb a dealer only item or can I get them at the local NAPA, etc?

Stock angel eye bulb is Philips 12082, 12V, 10W (bayonette style bulb).
