Still getting a clunk after replacement of bushings
So after quite a bit of research, I've replaced the front control arms with bushings, and the thrust arm bushings. But I am still getting a clunk from the front wheels. It usually happens when I apply the brakes for the time after the car has been parked for a short while. Do you think it is the drop links?
Also, if I am hearing a clunk from the back, which bushings should I look into replacing first? thanks in advance. |
Mine had the same issue and ended up being the axles.

May I ask if you replaced the axles and what did it cost? Just wondering if it is the right time to upgrade to a newer X5.

They quoted me about 200 per axle and 255 for labor. May be a little more but they are giving me a price break because they are also working on my bmw m5

well mine was doing the same thing, and it ended up being the two front rotors went bad.
Once I replaced them, and get on the road for a ride, the problem was disappeared... no more shimmy when brake applied. |
