Import an X5 into US
 

Hi,
I own an 2005 X5 4.8is, currently mileage at 119K, located in Dubai, UAE. I am repatriating back to Brookline, MA and want to ship this car there. Aside from customs duties and shipping costs, anything else I should be concerned about? Emissions, a/c, etc.? Thanks in advance.

Was the vehicle originally built for the US market, or in other words, is it compliant with US emissions and safety regulations?

I doubt that it was built for the US market as it was purchased brand new here by the previous owner. it is definitely made in usa however there is no label under the hood regarding emissions. Maybe I am not looking at the right place.
