Traded In the X5 for a 335D
With 90000 miles on the odometer, I traded in my 06 X5 Saturday. It was a great ownership experience. I owned it for 3 years and I put around 50000 virtually trouble free miles on it. Brakes, oil changes and a minor fuel guage problem is all I encountered. My wife no longer wanted an SUV, so a car was on the radar. Narrowed it down to a new 528I or a 335D. I'm certain this car will be a great experience also. Thanks for all the advice and help I got here from the members. It's off to Bimmerfest now!

chose a 335d over a 5 series?a 5 series is generally trouble some but i only like the way the new 3 series coupes look.not a fan of the sedan's exterior at all.did you say you bought it brand new?

Yes, brand new.

Good choice! Diesels are great fun.

I've been toying with the same decision for the last few months. I have a 2005 X5 with 80K so I'm looking forward to your thoughts about your new ride. Post some pictures and configuration. Congrats. |
congrats on the new ride.i heard the diesel engines from bmw are bullet proof(however i have no knowledge on them what so ever so i am probably horrendously wrong)

Enjoy all the torque of that new car. Nice.

Thanks everybody. I will post some pictures this weekend when I get a chance. One of the impressive things so far is the fuel(can't say gas anymore)mileage. I drove it from NJ to Delaware this past weekend. It was a combination of mostly highway but some city and the car got 37.5mpg. Looking forward to a long road trip.
