MAF Air Sensor 2001 BMW X5 4.4/Need help!!!

Today I took my MAF Air Sensor completely off my 01 X5 4.4. I cleaned it and put it back together and plugged it back in. I then did the Throttle Adaptation Procedure and it will not start. Any thoughts on what is causing it not to start and what else I might need to do?

Did you by chance leave the iggy switch on or anything that would drain the battery?

Are you getting any lights in position 1? Usual chimes? Just no crank?

If not, be sure the part is installed correctly. If that fails to work, try a jump start. If that does not work, pull the spare and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. Check your fuses also.

I did not leave the ignition switch on and nothing was on at all in the truck. I am getting lights on in position1 and usual chimes. It will crank now, but only idle for a few seconds and then it shuts off. I will uninstall the part and re-install and see what happens. I will try to disconnect the battery as well and check my fuses.

If you unplug the MAF does the car start? If so there's your answer. If no, it's something you can check off the list.

Might be an Old Thread, but I think Blakey 2000 is looking for an answer.
