weird message in control check alphanum area - newbie Q
OK, have the keys to the '03 X5 for about a week now and getting used to the many options.
In the manual, this area is the "check control alphanumerical display" -- the one where it kicks up "lights on" "release parking brake" etc messages. Anyways, was driving early morning (frosty temps) up a small rise when I noticed "6-54-40-ST" in the display area. It only lasted for a few seconds that I noticed. Any tips on what that was? TIA. I may have brushed against the BC button on the steering wheel clock by accident beforehand. :dunno: |

When I change radio presets it tells me the station name in the display and at the end it says ST, presumably if it detect Stereo transmission... not sure if that is it but I noticed this morning.

Thanks for the reply.
I don't think that is it, as it didn't match the clock nor the radio stations I might have have been listening to. To be clear its the display near the tach/speedo, and the radio is the barebones stock one (ie, no computer display in the MID area, as far as I know). The only thing that makes sense so far is a random RF interference, but will ask my indie when I see him for the first time. |
Yeah, so I think I figured it out. Now a lot more familiar with the whole stereo set up, and it matches up with:
fm channel 6 (was playing a song by artist) 54-40 (in) stereo. The artist being a number really threw off this rookie owner -- and a few of the should-have-known-the-answer locals I asked. Thanks to TriX5 for the post. |
