Hi folks

I'm pretty happy with the original sound but I just need more push in the bass so therefor I'm looking forward to installing another amp n a subw in my '03 X5 (Nav and DSP equip). My only problem is that my amp have only rca as input. Is there anyway I can get this amp work with the car?

Did you reclear any of the exterior paint? If so, what clear did you use? Also, did you scuff and rebuff. I heard that the BMW clears are super tough to rebuff.

Paint overspray on rotors, pads?

I notice paint overspray on the rotor surfaces and the sides of the pads... should we not concern ourselves with contaminating brake components?

I didn't reclear anything.

Yes, this era BMW clear is *really* hard. You just have to adjust your products/process in order to deal with the paint.

We started off with Meguiars 105 and a wool pad and then went "down the ladder."

The previous owner used nonOEM components on the brakes so I plan to change them once their useful to me life is up, so I wasn't concerned at all.

In terms of contamination. I just paint everything, by the time you back up 20ft into the washbay to wash the car any tracen of paint on the rotor is gone. What could the paint hurt? Can't be any worse than tar, mud, sand, road grime, wheel cleaners, brake dust, etc that all components come into contact with daily. I could be wrong though.:dunno:

Wow! Paperfootball, really a beautiful job...If you were close to the New York City area, I would most definatley bring my car to you for service and upgrades. That color is beautiful and you pay well attention to detail...I can see that!! Question: Will your OEM sunwoofer fit a 2005 4.4...I might be interested in it. Let me know, thnx:)
BTW, just curious how come you didn't go with a DYNAVIN head unit..I installed one in mine and its great and looks stock.

Did you retain your Steering Wheel controls with your new radio?

Everything you have done looks flawless!

Thanks!
I am not sure if the sub will work or not, have to check with someone more knowledgeable!

I did retain the steering wheel control...

I didn't do a dynavin because I just read sooooo many mixed reviews. I like to do things once and I already have the same unit in another car so I knew that I liked it...just didn't want to roll the dice...

I hear you!..BTW, which radio did you use?
