Installing Empty Console Bin
 

How easy is it to install the Empty Console Bin, that replaces the CD Console Bin, in a 2002 X5?

Easy. Simply pull up on the old one, remove it, and snap the replacement one in. Takes about 45 seconds.

Just pull out the old one and push the new one in firmly.

true, but only if you don't dremel out the side to allow for the lighting lense ;)

Now that would be a difficult mod. I have not tackled that part of the mod. :lmao:

Anyone have a part # for the empty console bin and does it fit a 2001??

Part number is in this article, and it fits all years of the e53 X5

it will fit any X5 all the centers are the same. i have done it and the 45second estimate is too much it took me a whole 30 :)

Sorry to revive this topic. I can't seem to get my storage bin out. People say to just lift it, but mine seems to lift out like 1-2mm (i.e. i can wiggle it around), but it won't come out! I tried prying the edges till my fingers hurt, etc.

Is there a certain trick involved? (I see people just say it lifts right out!).
