Airbag

So my air bag light has been on since I purchased the 2001 x5
Needed a control module and a driver's door air bag.
The module had an internal fault and the air bag had deployed.
It also had a code for the Driver's ITS or HDS air bag and passenger OCS.

Well I replaced the control module and driver's door air bag.

We after coding the module and clearing the codes a couple times the code for the Driver's head air bag is still there.

It is resistance too high, but I cannot remember the code number off the top of my head.

Any idea what the resistance should be? Or how to replace this one, the Bently manual says some thing like its an intensive process that involves removing the headliner and dashboard...

Thanks.

Hi, I guess you have Airbag scanner/reset tool, but how did you Code/program new module?, unless you also have GT1 or DIS & SSS ?.
If so, the DIS should tell you what the problems were . Fix them then use SSS ( PROGMAN ) code/program the module.
That what I did.
Sorry you 're not near me, if so I can help.

I know for the rear curtain airbags, the headliner needs to be at least partially dropped. It's probably more time intensive than anything

Thanks, it seems like a job that has not been tackled by anyone before. It will be a blast I am sure.
I found a little more info, part of the air bag looks like it bolts to the side of the dash frame. Not fun.

At work the neighbor is a BMW shop. They have an autologic. Coded the module just fine. No problems with the coding or clearing the codes.
I looked at the headliner airbag and it doesn't look like it has been deployed. I am just looking for the resistance spec for the driver's head curtain air bag to verify it is the problem or something in the wiring...

So for anyone who wants to tackle this job. You can wiggle the air bag out without removing the dash. You have to take the a b and c pillars out.
And disassemble the under dash area.
You will need to have a short torx t30 driver for the attachment points of the bag itself. Stubby 10mm ratcheting wrench or at least a regular stubby 10 for the body of the portion bolted to the dash frame. They face the side of the dash panel in the door jamb.
and plenty of patience.
Pull it all out the bottom of the dash, feeding the bag part though the opening at the bottom of the a pillar.
