X5 starting problem
 

I came to start my X5 a couple of days ago and it wouldn't start at all. So I got a boost and kept it running for a few minutes and it instantly shut off and wouldn't start at all. I replaced the battery today, and the car started and the traction, exclamation mark, and abs lights came on however right away I feel a stutter and it shuts off then the CEL and red battery lights turn on aswell. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be

I had a similar problem in my e46.. maybe the alternator?
