oil leak post #1234664 :)

hey guys, i need some help...i have changd my oil and ever since i hav aoil leak..every day i have nice spot of oil..i know it spreads so it may not be as bad. I oil level has moved much.

todau i went to investigate...the vavle covers gaskets looks ok...no visible leakes...caked on gunk, but no "leaks". th leaks seem to be leaking through the front most hole on the plate. the oil pan is wet...so oil pan gasket?? transfer case..again clean oil is on my floor....CCV ( not even sure what the issue is here, i live in atlanta so not so cold here)

side note i pop my hood and my coolant tank is hissing at me from the top....so i guess that needs to be replaced...

tia

How many miles on your 2001? It could be the CCV or old cracked hoses to it. They are located near the firewall or back of the engine and hard to see and get to.

Good Luck!

Replace valve cover gaskets. X5 2001, 4.4L with 126,00. Car was leaking oil not too bad. Did an oil change, car started leaking oil like a sive. Replaced valve cover gaskets, no leaks so far.
