Can you tell me what this is?

Hey everyone. Hope all of you are enjoying New Years and getting time off from work!

I've had a question for quite a while now and have finally taken the time to post it. I've noticed something funny with my rear left wheel since back in July or August and I've done some light searching and still can't really tell for sure what the problem might be.

I don't know if it could be just a simple alignment problem or something more serious so I'd like for you all to look at it and tell me what you think. The problem is with the rear left wheel and it looks like it's aimed a little more inside and leaning inward compared to the rear right wheel. Any guesses?? :dunno:

I'd take it down for an alignment check unless you like the snow plough look

^+1. These eat tires fast enough when they're aligned. That looks pretty severe.

But I think you would need a hands on inspection to tell you exactly what the problem is. Jack it up and give it a serious shake, up, down , side to side etc.. (after putting it on a jackstand)

You should be able to tell if you have a hardware failure, or if it's just out of alignment.

Mine was the same way. Read BMWs have a negative camber for handling. I took it to my alignment guys and they adjusted it back to where it looks normal from the rear. As your driving around town check out the x5 in front of you. Theirs looks just like yours. Happy new year!

just take the tires off you will see a encentric bolt with lines on it its all the way in .It will eat tires toed in like that in 10000 miles for sure .

SOMETHING TO CONSIDER IT COULD BE AS SIMPLE AS WORN OUT BUSHINGS...

I would think this is pretty normal - on both sides.

Have fun
