Oil Drain Valve (what do you think of this new item)

Hi,
I have been considering the new oil drain valves that are listed in places like ECS Tuning (cover page). Where you just flip the valve with your fingers and the oil drains out. My main interest is to find out if the oil will drain clear of the oil drain cover in the stiffening plate by using one of these valves (it seems to add a little length to the drain plug). If that were the case (and if it has good longevity) then I would definitely consider putting one on at the next oil change.
What do you think of these new oil drain valves?

Fumoto type valves have been around for a long time. Most folks have had fairly good results with them.

Personally, for me, I don't like the idea that there is something under the car that could get bumped, break and drop all my oil.

YMMV, and personal preference rules.

Every contraption that goes in place of a proper drain plug will leak. We see them time to time at the shop they are always leaky. Just use a proper drain plug

I have them on both my BMWs and they are pretty good - particularly with the ability to drain the oil while it is still hot. They don't leak. They are well protected by the undercover panel. Note: Just make sure you get the correct valve and attachment.
