Source for metric stainless steel exhaust tubing?
 

Anyone knows where I can buy some metric stainless exhaust tubes in 60mm diameter?

My local performance shop can have some stainless steel tubes from Magnaflow I think, but it is 'exhaust quality' he says, if you put a magnet to it, it will stick and with time, will develop surface rust, and, it is only available in SAE sizes, no metric. The only other option is 304 SS but it is a polished tube, for show cars.

I would like to find something like BMW OE, good quality stainless, but not polished (no need for 304 SS).

I'm ready to remove my resonator and replace it with a H-pipe, and don't want to install a piece of tube that will rust.

To all those who installed a X-pipe, have you all gone to a muffler shop?

To those who had a shop do the job, could you take a look if the pipe they put rusts. I'm not sure they use stainless that is equivalent to OE.

Best way is to go to a car scrapyard and ask for stainless steel pipe,60mm ,2.36" but 2.5" (63mm) also fine). Its cheap and they sell it by weight.Take a magnet with you and if it sticks to metal,its metal that rusts,if it doesnt stick ,its stainless.Stainless is heavier than metal.

Here, most of the big scrap yards are now like a dealer parts dept. They are comperturized and don't keep cheaper or low demand stuff.

The days when I used to walk in the yark and pick up my stuff myself are over (exept for smaller yards, but choice is limited)
