There good, just inflate them to 36 or higher. Low pressure really shows off the DWS' weak sidewalls. Once inflated properly they are nice

Though I should write an update after driving over 11K miles and almost a year from the purchase date.
I replaced the original Michelin 4x4 Diamaris after 45,000 miles with Continental ExtremeContact DWS in April 2012. I have a 2006 BMW X5 4.8is with staggered wheels, Front 275/40-R20; Rear 315/35-R20.
These tires are very quiet. The life thread is good. The “S” for snow is still in pretty good shape on all four tires after 11K miles. I took the car to mammoth where there was 8” of fresh snow fall over night. My X5 had no problem with traction, accelerating, and braking. Compacted and loose snow is no problem for this beast on these tires. The car felt so in control and confident.
I drive fast and on occasion I have to brake hard. The only time the ABS went off was in a rainy day when I had to stop on the wide white pedestrian lines. Those white lines become slippery like ice when wet anyway.
The side walls on DWS are a tad softer than the Diamaris. But honestly, I can careless. These tires have so much positive that one negative doesn’t count at all…
I keep the front 32psi and rear 35psi.
My next set of tires will be Continental ExtremeContact DWS for sure…

try Michelin Latitude ,they are all season tires and good for So Cali , discount tires has they.

Papa13, I have them on my X5 and they are great. I'm in Northern California, no problems at all. Super quiet, nice grip etc. I read in the forum that people had issues with them and some loved them. I'm one of them who would buy them over and over again.

I have them (DWS) on my X which is on the Style 87 wheels. WHen i got them i put 2 new DWS on the fronts and bought some used ebay ones for the rear which was about 200, basically chaper than 1 new and im still driving on them. I need to get new rears soon though.

But definitley they are great tires and i really like them.

I am also looking for some tires for my 930 Turbo and i think i may try the DW. DWS for the X and just the DW for the Porsche.

I love them, have not had to switch to Snows at all. I now feel like I wasted money by buying the snows. Any snow we have had, even the piles the plows make on the right side of the streets, have not even slowed the X down one bit.

Thanks for all the feedback. They sounds promising and looking foward to giving them a try. These will be the first all seasons I have purchased in over 10 years, so hoping that the breed has improved since where I left off.

I've got just a couple hundred miles on these tires, but they have been in "dry" "wet" and "snow" as the name of the tire suggests and in temp ranges from 14 to 60f. Great ride quality; they are supple and quiet. Surprised at the high level of performance in snow and ice. Not as precise as the Diamaris on dry and wet pavement but definitely not squirmy. Hope they don't discontinue these in the 20" staggered setup anytime soon.

My RFT Bridgestone Dueler (SUMMER ONLY) Tires do just fine in the snow. You just gotta know what your doing... DWS will be next for me

I find the Duelers to be fairly sketchy in zero degrees on ice packed roads with several inches of new snow on top, but maybe I just don't know what the hell I am doing.
