Bulbs replaced - no help - still CHECK LIGHTS msg
Hi there, yesterday I went to a good electrician who replaced the burnt bulbs added in series to my LED backlights (added only to give some resistance to LED low-current-consumption lights to fool OBC). Now I'm having two lights at each side hanging somewhere in the trunk, lighting happily like Christmas tree. Still, the god-damn CHECK BRAKE LIGHTS/ CHECK TAIL LIGHTS message appears there under speedometer. How can I tell the stupid computer that I already had these fixed (any reset procedure .. etc). Mine is '02

Then you can add the LED. I have LED AE tied to fog light and no code so I know you can parallel both regular bulbs and LED to kill the warning. but it'll flicker the LED at start up and periodically when engine running. |
What year X, do you have.

Sounds like either you have an issue with a socket as HPIA4v2 suggests or the LED resistance is not correct. I'd go back to stock bulbs to check that the system is operating properly.

What I know is that OBC triggers a check when a circuit is open (i.e. burnt bulb). But I'm having all my bulbs lighting. Guys are you telling me that OBC catches small differences in resistance as well?

Ok so no adaptive tail lights. Why don't you just wire in a resistor like the rest of the people here? I never heard people leaving the bulbs hanging there. You never know, maybe there is too much resistance there now with the bulbs hanging.
Yes, the car is sensitive to resistance. Sorry missed that it is and '02 from first post. |
