Has anybody adjusted a door latch?
The new car has a slightly loose front drivers door. The other 3 have that solid thud when they are closed. Other than replacing the rubber door surround, is there any way to adjust the latch so it pulls the door in ever so slightly? TIA for the help.

I have it done on the left passenger door,it was miss aligned a bit.
Pry the plastic cover on the driver's side pillar. The latch "pin" is held by 2 torx(I think 2 ) bolts.Loosen them a bit so you can slide it towards interior, tighten them up.Try closing the door.If the objective is reached,no further steps are required. But,don't slide it a lot from the first time.I also scratched the paint around the base in its original position, slightly,so it gives a position alteration feedback. That's it. Quote:

I was told recently that my front doors 'close like a tank' because they need to be adjusted. But I can't see to figure out what might need adjusting. The rear door close quietly, like a new car. :driver: |
You probably need new door edge (weather strip)

Hmm. Weatherstrips appear to be in like new condition. I hear a heafty 'clunk' when I close the front doors. At first I thought that was kind of cool, like a beefy tank, but the rear door close quietly so not sure my front doors are aligned. They have no problem closing all the way. They are just kind of loud which tells me there might be more metal rubbing on metal than there should be.

Adjusting the door is outlined in the Bentley Manual.
