Advice on '02 X5 4.6is Value

Hey gang, I'm trying to determine what is a fair price for an '02 4.6is. The truck is immaculate, 89k miles, Estoril Blue/Alcantara, Navi, PDC, DSP, etc. Needs tires and that is it. Mechanically perfect and up to date, cosmetically spotless, interior is mint. No dead pixels or typical issues. What is this thing worth?

My favorite E53...i'd price at 15k private sale. Get her new shoes.

.2 tuppence

As much as I wish this truck could be had for $10k, it is pretty unrealistic (unless I was Carmax).

ChilliWilli- I def think you are probably right with what is out there right now. Super clean and stock 4.6's with all of these great options are hard to find. It seems to have a good pedigree and all of the right options like estoril, alcantara, navi, aluminum trim, etc.

flea-bay shows two sold, 100K mi, seem good condition $12,500-15k.

always a good baseline IME, regardless if you would buy OR sell there.

Anyone really wanting to buy your X will check Edmunds, as their values are based upon actually Selling the vehicle in question in Your area, as opposed to whatever astrological info Kelly uses.

good luck, post it here first (with piles of HQ but med res [3MP, fine] pics)!

Where did you see this car? Autotrader? Cars.com? Craigs?

CTSportX5 02-24-2012 11:38 AM

The title of his post was "check craigs list", so safe to assume that is the one.

frankroti 02-24-2012 11:58 AM

I did check craigs, no luck in Michigan.

And don't forget tires if it needs them. They are no small consideration on these trucks. I got a new set of Michelin Latty's included from the dealer when I bought mine last year. Nearly $1900 worth of tires (Tirerack.com) was enough to keep me from seeking a better deal elsewhere.

I will probably go with the Continental DWS from the Tire Rack. About $1.2k when it is all said and done.

Buy mine then!

E53 2002 X5 4.6is, AZ/CO car - high miles, great value! - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum

It has many more miles, but they are almost all highway miles in the desert southwest. It has had only two owners including me. It has been religously maintained, burns absolutely no oil and only requires you to fly to Arizona for a short vacation (where it was 75 degrees today :D) and drive it home!

No, it is a car I have since put a deposit on and was trying to get some advice on what it is worth.
