What size are the 4.6is mufflers
 

I have soearched as many threads as I can and even the internet to find what size the mufflers are...size of the inlets/outlet and dimensions.

Trying to get them so that I can have the performance shop I use see if we can get a Flowmaster to fit.

Yes I know it is a European V8, but I would put Flowmasters on a Ferrari given the chance.

The pipe are 2.5' and the rest is you have to put the car on the lift and take out the ruler.

fwiw, you already have the best exhaust from BMW, you might wanna read up on people's experience and reaction to what they DID TO their X (some unhappy stories).
a search on Flowmaster alone was 38 hits, might wanna check eisman, and definitely U-Boob for all the variations that have been tried, complete with cheap camcorder sound.

in my reading, Eisman has the most 'yep, I heard it/lived with it.. def best' comments, though I may have missed a couple in my exhaust upgrade searching. Else? 4.6 / 4.8is has best sound.
If there is not a "fits bmw e53" application by NOW, aren't you kinda' askin' for trouble?

The muffler inlet piping is metric but you'll be awfully close using anything 2.25"
