Test #9 shows 11V to 13.7V

Hey guys, anyone has info on this issue? I searched the forum but did not get any info that was similar, I had my alternator and battery changed by the dealer two years ago, and had to replace the battery again two months ago with one from Advance Auto. I noticed this morning test #9 shows the voltage varying from 11V to 13.7V, when I turned off the engine it went straight to 10.6V any suggestions?

Well your battery is dead, but may just need a charge. But sounds like the alternator is the issue.

Or the new battery had a bad cell and the alternator isn't able to charge properly because of of that.

If the alternator is bad wouldn't the light on my dash come on?

Well the alternator is responsible for holding the voltage at something near 14 volts, so that's what leads me to believe it could be the problem.

I hope it isn't, I had it changed by the dealer two years ago..

If a BMW dealer changed it, you *should* be under a 24-month warranty parts and labor.

I will go back on Monday to check it out, thank you.

Update: when the dealer changed my alternator and battery, they stripped the nut on the positive terminal, so after some time the connection became loose, so the car will run on the alternator power and not fully charge the battery. I am happy it was a simple fix and didn't have replace both things again... Thank you guys for the replies....
