need some help finding v17 os for the navi
 

hello every body
im new to the world of BMW, since im the first to ever own one in my family:rofl:. i bought a 2001 bmw x5 3.0i with 136,xxx miles on it,hands down best car i have ever driven:wow:(last car was a pos ford explorer). i bought this car used and the navi wasn't working when i bought it.:(the guy i bought it from said i need a map cd for it to work.
its an MK3
here's whats wrong:
black screen (the back light is on)
radio cuts off every 2.5 minutes
board computer doesn't work when i pushed the button on the high beam stick
i started doing research on this topic and found out it might be fried.:( i read somewhere that i might be able to fix it if i can get the cd drive to accept a copy of a os and re install it.i downloaded v23 but did not work. recently fond a thread saying if i could install v 17 maybe it might work. i would like to try it if any one has a link or copy they could give me.
can some one please give me their advice about this, i really dont want to go spend alot of money on a navi when i navi get a garmin or tom tom for like 50 bucks. thanks agian
