Anyone in Chicago with a GT1 that can program AE as DRL?

Hey guys,

Anyone in Chicago with, or know someone with access to a GT1 to re-program angel eyes as DRL? Perillo BMW gave me some BS that 'it couldn't be done'. I'll pay cash for the inconvenience. Let me know thanks!

I'm with Perillo on this one. Now, maybe with an INPA/EDIABAS/NCS install and some good codes, but not a GT1. This wasn't even an option in EU which is where most of the cool GT1 conversions come from.

This issue has come up few times over the years. I would like to know how it can be done.

$10 in parts that's including the relay and some wires,Plus your 15min of work = you have AE rings on as DLR.

Well, yeah. You can hack (and not in a bad way) it all day long. But I don't know that it was ever a programmable option in the E39 or E53 which share a bunch of the same electronics.

^^prop, you are correct. it was never offered as a bmw option. i believe it is not possible as there is no coding or command that the body module recognizes to turn on the AE by themselves when the ignition is turned on.

body module does not control the exterior lighting on this vehicle.

in order to perform this retrofit, you must change the pin assignment. it may be easier to do so at the LCM IV.

LCM Connector x12 swap pin #3 and #13 for Right headlamp
LCM Connector x10117 swap pin #18 to connector x38 pin #6 for Left headlamp

adapt coding for day time running lamps to run at full brightness
adapt coding for flash to pass as side lights
