Anyone had to replace this part?
|
This looks eerily similar to the Cayenne V8's coolant pipe issues. However, Porsche has OEM parts to replace the rubber coolant pipes with aluminum ones similar to this. The Porsche pipes that fail also sit in the valley between the banks and the intake manifold (and fuel rail) has to be removed to be replaced.

im getting ready to use it instead of taking the whole motor apart.

This was a remedy for the early N62 motors found in the 7 series and 5 series. They were notorious for leaky coolant return pipes.

Yea I used this on a friends N62 motor. Procedure is pretty simple. Just need to carefully cut the old pipe out, replace o rings and slip the new pipe in. Pretty cool and much better that taking the entire motor apart.
