So you didnt check forums before buying to check and see who was having what issues? I seriously doubt it I wouldn't call it complaining all the time. I would say most car forums are 30% about something that has gone wrong. However, if it werent for these posts, we would never find out about problems/issues with our cars. These posts aren't trashing our cars, just providing information. I'm sure you have read about problems you can relate to with your car and found fixes here as well. If everyone just posted positive comments, this forum wouldn't be half as helpful or informative.

Good luck with the S. Let us know how working on it goes. I know people that dump the within the first year.

This is an '06 B7. Built quality control and reliability were supposed to have improved in '05. We bought our daughter an '08 A4 and it's been running fine. Our S4 was a one owner car and he was a research person. The Avant was very clean and never been hit and looked like it wasn't abused. So far, it's running well and sucking gas. LOL. Only time will tell how good a buy this is, but it's looking fine so far.

I take time out of my busy day to complain, about my X5 with the hope that someone at BMW take notice and change or fix whatever is that the Factory here in the US is doing wrong. I paid $52,000.00 for a vehicle that so far has giving more problems than a 1996 Nissan that I purchase 16 years ago. it is frustrating to me that the Ultimate Driving Machine use substandard materials, I have two other BMW’s German specification E21 and a E46, so far I have change more parts on my X5 than all the other vehicles combine. So my rationality behind my complaints is that I can spare someone the trouble I been thru and maybe BMW will lose future customers.

I don't think I'd spend a lot of breath here hoping there was someone from BMW around to take notice....just sayin'.

i dont know how many of these thing BMW has sold around the world but i would have to say that what you read on forums is not always representative of the model as a whole

my experience with my 2005 3.0d x5 sport has been nothing but positive, however i do tend to look after my cars
