Radiator Drain Plug, What a pain!

Yesterday after changing the Oil Filter Gasket on my 04 X5 3.0, I attempted to flush the coolant from the radiator, how ever I could not get the drain plug out. I did numerous searches on the internet and they all say to turn the plug 90 degrees and pull it out. I could not even turn it 1 degree. The plug was stuck and since its made of plastic I didn't want to destroy it.

Any ideas?

Most plastic-plug at the bottom of radiator for coolant flush needs to be turned using screw-driver (short one the best), then coolant quickly trickle down afterwards.
