THANKS JCL!!! IN THE CENTER OF MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS A LIT TRIANGLE WITH A ARROW AROUND IT . MY MANUAL SAYS ITS MY FRONT WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM , I KNOW ITS WORKING BECAUSE OF A RECENT SNOW WE HAD. CAN ANYONE HELP ???? THANKS ...PHILC

Sounds like the warning for the DSC, Dynamic Stability Control. It uses wheel speed sensors to determine slip, and apply brakes as necessary.

I would also like to add that when my x5 would start up with the dsc indicator staying on, that was the beginning signs that my alternator was going south. Might want to check if the battery and alternator are okay too.
