Original LED Angel Eye Bulbs?

Hi,

I'm thinking to replace my 05 X5 4.4i yellow halogen angel eyes to LED. I've been looking around for the aftermarket bulbs but worry about getting error code.

Is there any original LED bulbs from BMW?

Also, is there any way to turn on the angel eyes as DRL?

Thanks for any input!

OEM bmw LEDs.... No
DRL...through coding, no... If you wana get down and dirty, yes (DIY: Wiring your Angel Eyes as DRL's. - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)) You'll probably still need to have someone code the error code off. Keep in mind though this was done on an E39. (I havent tried it though)

Good aftermarkets:

Umnitza ICE V5, why?
No error codes, plug-n-play, fairly priced, and decent looking. Thats why i got myself a pair!

I just did some research online and they talked about the "bmw scanner 1.4" kit can turn on the DRL, is that true?

Does your Umnitza ICE V5 have any freaking like others have? Where can I buy that? I have bi-halo angle eyes (halogen) + xenon headlights. Do I need 4 bulbs for the angle eyes?

Thanks for your reply.

I honestly have no idea about the scanner, I only kept the link for refference, from what I understand the DRL is limited to only the highbeam light.

Heres the link to the Angel eyes. Umnitza ICE V5 (N) BMW LED Upgrade Angel Eyes (WL) [V5-L56EXXV] - $79.99 : Umnitza|BMW Angel Eyes|LED Angel Eyes|Headlights|Lighting|Performance|Service|87748 66489

What do you mean by "freaking"? Do you mean flickering/flashing?
-If you mean flickering, the only time the bulbs flicker is on first startup of the car, this is due to the LCM doing a hot check of every bulb on the car, after the check is done (a few seconds) the bulbs will stay illuminated.

If the E53 headlight is anything like the E39, both halos on ONE headlight are controlled by ONE bulb. You would only need to buy 1 set from them (1 Set includes 2 bulbs) (or in this case LED bulbs)

For me, i didn't need a resistor pack since i had an E39, but I would contact them just to be 100% sure.

They claim the procedure is the same for both E39/E53: http://www.umnitza.com/doc/predatoriceinstall.pdf

Yes, does the Umnitza give any flickering problem(my bad spelling)?

I heard that it is just plug-n-play for E53 but I just want to make sure before I invest my money on that!

Thanks.

Umnitza VXX are good. I upgraded from ICE V5 to the VXXs.. They are pretty visible during the day. I wish there is an LED that is strong like the new bmws though.. aha

How much difference can you tell between the new bmw and this ICE VXX?
