Best E53 Upgrade suggestions
 

HI guys...have a 06 e53 4.4i
what is the best possible upgrade i can get with this sav as far as from
upgrading ..

chips,engine?,software? something that is not all that major as to like putting a supercharger to it....let me know if you guy have any suggestions or have had upgrades and how was the difference as far as ride,engine wear,or anything.....
I am open to any suggestions..and if we can have a reliable sites to purchase or car shops that stand by them n NY/NJ area...i see alot of RIP OFFS website that offer crazy stuffs and when i look at their reviews..its a rip off site...thank you.

If your goal is more hp, there are no upgrades that will make an appreciable difference, short of supercharging it.

oh i see ......yes but the supercharger are in the 6-10k$......which is costly...but i do get it......what is my other options?..lol...what about chipping it?....software?....anything within the $5k below?>..

$5k? Buy a motorcycle.

use the 5,000 and put it towards the maintenance and repairs. if you'd like some performance software for the DME and EGS, i can send you a programming package and i can program your vehicle remotely. the package will cost $85 and i will send you the cable and you can keep the cable afterwards. all you need is a high speed internet connection, laptop with 2.0ghz with 2gigs of ram and a stable power supply device.

$5K that is enough for a week worth of gas. LOL actually now that I think about it, that statement is not too far off.:dunno:

yes with my JOb being a therapist and doing House Call all day everyday....its insane how much this SAV swallows gas ...its like never ending filling up....

@ killcrap.....tell me what benefits will i gain from the programming you are offering....im quite interested on this.....and yes....definitely going to need cooling system upgrade or should i say...will need to replace a few parts from it....some preventative issues before it gets me in the long run.....maybe i should just change the spark plugs to top quality and call it a day...:)


also..can we update the Side marker to be off when cruising and only tun on when signaling?...can we update the independent shocks to be lowered by 1"?...-and fog light to be turned on when high beams are on?

For $85 that's a bargain. Just do it.

There are a few cosmetic and functional changes that can be coded, such as lights, locking, and so on. You can get the speed limiter and rev limiter changed, but are those really performance upgrades? Naturally aspirated engines don't make appreciably more hp with just coding.

JCL, i completely agree. Without doing the host of other mods (intake, exhaust etc.), the software flash has no real appreciable gains other than a slight increase in throttle response.
