Loud Squeal When Turning Left
 

A neighbor of mine has a 4.4is. With the car sitting still, he turns the wheel all the way to the right, no noise. But when he turns to the left, there's this loud metal squeal. Not a grind. And it doesn't sound like anything necessarily to do with power steering fluid (which the reservoir is full by the way). At first I thought it was just the left wheel which really confused me. Then I stepped to the right side and heard it there too. Again, it's ONLY when the wheel is turned to the left. My first guess was that it's his rack. But for it to only make noise when it's turned to the left doesn't seem quite right. So I'm wondering is any of you have run across this before.

or the car has had a stroke

Jack up the car and check for any play in suspension,bad lower ball joint does that too.
