TechServ
Anyone has any experience with "TechServ"? it's an after market extended warranty through my two local BMW dealers!! They recommend them and their prices are competitive with Warranty Direct. The only advantage here is obviously buying them through the BMW dealership which give some dealership ties. The dealer syas they use them for service with no issues. Any comments or feedback is appreciated folks. :stickpoke

Don't know if this helps, but I happened to be at my local dealership today. While there, I spoke with the financial guy who sold me the BMW Extended Warranty recently. I asked him lots of questions, to reassure myself that my warranty was better than some of those I see discussed here. He said mine is underwritten/outsourced to "US Warranty", and is honored by any BMW dealer. He assured me that if that company went belly-up, the local dealership would be obligated to honor the policy, since they had sold it as agents. He also said that the better warranties are only available if purchased during the OEM warranty period (4 year/50k mi), and after inspection, to ensure that the car is still in reasonable condition. He pointed out that if full bumper-to-bumper warranties were sold over the internet, without any inspection, there would be so many claims that the company would bleed cash and fold quickly.

I was told BMW NA did not do extended warranties. I do have the BMW NA "Maintenance Program Upgrade (increasing the covered maintenance to 72 mo/100k mi). The extended warranty is a dealer-sold item.

Anyone else with TechServ experience? :dunno: |
Bump .. anyone else please?

Never heard of them but they should be OK if your dealer recommends them.
A couple of things to check are: What is NOT covered? Does TechServ pay the claim or do you pay and then get reimbursed? Rob_ |
Today the dealer gave me their brochure to read. The Brochure lists everything that is not covered unlike other companies that leave it vague! He quoted me $2544 for 4yr/100k or $2618 for 5yr/100K with a $100 deductable on both! Sounds like a good deal, deosn't it?
