Aftermarket Wheels- replica's?

I need to replace my front wheels due to damaging the center bore. I messed up the hub using my BFH trying to remove a stubborn axle. I know, I know... lesson learned! :banghead:

Anyway, I was getting that annoying vibration and after replacing everything related to suspension, I realized the wheel bore was damaged and out of round. I found this website..

transwheel-aluminum-wheel-rim-20x95-5x120-bolt-pattern

And want to know if these replica's are any good for the price or not?

I am considering taking the damaged original wheels to a shop to see what they can do but, need these to use in the mean time.

Thanks in advance!!

Jason

Hopefully, someone who has bought from them will post but IMO most replicas are the similar qualtiy. I wouldn't worry too much about it since its priced like others too.

The main thing is that it has the same specs as the originals.

Are you going with the reps for $177? Why not just get the reconditioned OEMs they sell for $200?

I assume you prefer the originals and I doubt you can get yours repaired for $23 difference.

I'm also assuming the reconditioned OEMs are original BMW wheels, otherwise, why sell the new replicas for LESS. LOL!

Hi Poppa!!

I was going to get reconditioned oem and input a qty of 2 then "add to cart" and an error came up saying none were in stock.
So, my only option is to get the replica's on a leap of faith.

They have a warranty so, I would think they'll be safe and are a match to the oem's.

I'll probably go ahead and get them and let y'all know how they look and fit!

Thanks!

Ahh, that makes sense now. LOL! Good Luck!

Had great experience with refinished wheels from Finish Line Wheels...used them for winter setup.

Looks like their prices are very reasonable at around 200 bucks per rim for a 20" rep of the 87s or 168s, let me know if you order and if the set is quality! I would love to have a set of rep 87s on my car!

Well.... WTAM emailed back after I placed the order and said their website had the incorrect qty available. The 168 replica's are being shipped in and won't be in for another 10-14 days. They are checking to see if they can work a good discount for me to get a different full set of (staggered) replica's. I liked the 7 spoke Y style and or something similar in a black matte finish that won't kill my wallet.

I'll let you know how this transpires and what kind of a deal they offer?

Let me know what they do for you, it says on the style 87's that the reps are in stock as well, I wonder if I tried to order would the same thing happen to me? Only difference is that I want non staggered, I need to be able to rotate tires! haha

I do like that they have free shipping though!

Well, WTAM came back and made me an offer I couldn't pass. I pulled the trigger on a full set of style 177 replica's for $175ea front & back. They were very friendly, quick to respond, honorable as they made right a wrong and my original order had 3-day shipping included and they agreed to overnight them to me for the 3 day price. SOLD!!

I worked with Jenny and she made the transaction smooth. Here's a funny... in one of my email's to her, I was informing her of my damaged front wheels and in a plea to make my cloudy day brighter, I said "Jenny, Jenny who do I turn to?", she knew the song by Tommy Two Tone and jokingly said, "I like that song but, such a dork!" LOL!!

Anyway, my girl is getting new shoes this weekend, woohoo!!

What's your budget look like? I've dealt with a company through ebay that has some nice BMW wheels. They're called wheeltechtuning.
