May be a tough question here

I found the below bolt in my driveway. It's fine thread about 3" and has a 6 point star head. It is a metric grade 10.9 Any idea if this is something from the X? I don't "feel" like i'm missing a bolt anywhere lol. Couldnt get under to look myself as its been raining. Just curious if it looks familiar.

That's a torx head and it looks like a bellhousing bolt to me

Sent from my SGH-i917 using Board Express

No idea. I don't think it comes from X5.

I was afraid of that. I had been hearing a thunk type sound on the driver side front when backing out of the bump in my driveway. Today that sound was gone. Hopefully the rain lets up so i can get under there before work and check it out tomorrow.

I found this RealOEM.com * BMW E53 X5 3.0i Frnt axle support,wishbone/tension strut Looks to be #2. Based on the pic it sorta looks like it.

The subframe or your skid plate bolt. Looks like one that would be used for the skid plate and sway bar bushing keeper (one of two bolts).

Good Luck!

The TC is bolted to the transmission with Bolts like that. Easy to check.
