You can't drain converter. You will have to either flush the system, or fill and drain like 4 times.

I was just informed that my transmission is toast. Does anyone know of a reliable place to buy a used one between Great Falls and Vegas?? I've got a friend rolling through there in the next couple days.

I wouldn't go with an used one. They can go for another 100k or fail the next day. Get a rebuilt or do it yourself.

From what I've heard so far, and this could be bullshit too, is that ZK has some parts they just won't sell you and rebuilding is just a money pit. I found a rebuilt one for 6G which is still up there.

Never heard of that. So far everybody on these forums found everything was needed to fix their ZF transmissions successfully. There was nothing on mine that I needed and I couldn't find. You can buy a rebuilt one from the getbmwparts.com which is BMW dealer for 4-5k if I remember right with 2 years warranty and have it shipped to Sweetgrass.

That's the best news I've heard yet!! I can't wait to move to the states. Hopefully before or just after the new year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
BMW dealer here said the transmissions were a weak point on the 4.6is. I'm sure when people bought them new they weren't raving about that little bit of info. Fuck'n stupid!!

Someone is feeding you bullahit GoFast. I always read the trans posts on here. Prices are really not as bad as you were told, and all rebuild parts are regularly available. Even instructions and general help from people here, fmugur for one know his stuff.
