Change your gas... Get your octane up higher.

I had some very bad experience with cheap coils. Spent an age chasing missfires, finally cured by buying proper coils.

If the X was sitting that long, the fuel is spent. And if you didn't drain the tank and fill with fresh, the gum and residue may have fouled the sensors. Fill with premium and fuel injector cleaner to burn that stuff off. In the mean while do some diagnostic work. Make sure all the coils are working properly and check the wires.

The fuel is a long shot, but possible.

crazy codes

thanks for the advices ,but the first thing i did when putting the Xs back on the road 1. i had the engine flushed 2.fuel cleaner 3.brand new ignitions coil from the stealer 4. i clean the throttle body 5 .the gas i used is shell. the only thing i didn't do is change the spark plugs. The Xs feel like it wants to take off but something is holding it back a little . 6. i cleaned the air filter. could it be the gas filter?

crazy codes

today i decided to check the spark plugs, thanks for all the good feed back. As i removed the spark plug i notice that there was oil on the spark plug and down in the chamber.
, could this be my problem over all with these crazy codes?

TwinTurboGTR 07-10-2012 10:44 PM

I have never heard of codes coming up because of a leaking valve cover gasket. I guess is oil is getting past the plugs and entering the chamber, the burning of the oil is going to foul the sensors and then trip a light??? But since you found the problem, replace the VCG and the plugs if they are original.
