X5 4.8is 1/4 mile run
http://home.pacbell.net/rtyper/Pict_045.avi
Mike from RF.... Earlier today I was able to test out the 4.8is at the drag strip since I was using it to trailer my drag car. I was attending an event at Sacramento Raceway (CMI), unfortunatly they called the event off due to poor weather conditions, however they did allow people to do test runs on the track since it was not prepped. So I decided to unhook the trailer and give the X5 a go since my drag car would spin every gear in these conditions. Anyway, the 4.8is has 16,200 (oil service light just came on), FULL tank of gas (just filled it up to 22gal before I got to the track), and with 50lbs of cargo in the back. Oh yeah its bone stock. It ran: reaction: .105 60ft: 2.056 (just rolled off the line in sport mode, auto shifting) I2: 6.052 I3: 9.373 I3 mph: 74.137 I4: n/a ET: 14.633 MPH: 93.588 Not bad at all since it holds a full tank (totally full tank) and 50lbs of crap in the back and being stock. I'm sure that if I would have messed with launching better and had less gas in it and no cargo, it may hit 14.4! BMW claims 14.8 I believe! |
Sweet ! :)

We just did a magazine shoot and got the following figures:
X5 Miltek 0-60mph 7.31 0-100mph 18.27 Top Speed 144.69mph 1/4-mile 15.03@93mph Best lap time 2.31.2 It was done via a datalogger and on a runway so not exactly accurate but thought it would be a nice comparison. |
