4.4 Inject SeaFoam
I have the white smoke in my 4.4 X5. Replaced the CCV valves already, yet the condition persists.
I want to inject SeaFoam into the engine. Heard the best way to do is through the vacuum line. Any suggestions on how I should introduce to clean up all the gunk in the CCV system? |
Wow! sounds like just about everyone is having the smoke issue, including myself! Think its about time BMW has a recall on this issue.

Yeah no Sh**. Last BMW I will buy used!
It is the ultimate driving machine if you get this brand new and dump it around 60K. Love the machine NOT the maintenance. If I buy an X it will be brand new and dump at 50 to 60K. This this the second I have owned. Not fun..... |
Yep used BMW's have way too many issues.
I owned e36,e46,e39 and now the e53 and they have so many issues, but I still keep coming back for more lol I'm with you though next one is gonna be new. I did the Seafoam treatment to my engine last month. I used one bottle in the engine right before my oil change The other I used in the Vacuum. Pretty simple you just take a vacuum hose and stick it in the bottle and let it suck in some Seafoam while idle. Once it takes it all in shut the engine down for a few seconds then turn it on again. You will see heavy smoke for the first 5 mins. After that just drive around for a few minutes preferably at night. The next day you will still get some smoke, but after it's all done you will feel a difference and maybe your white smoke will go away. |
