What is fair price for water pump replacement?
 

thinking about doing this myself vs. having dealer/repair shop. How much should this cost for a dealer/repair shop to replace the water pump on my 2005 4.4??

bro do it yourself buy yourself a manual on ebay and shop around for parts online...i am forced to do it because i live in hawaii and stores dont stock things for bmw's its fairly easy

I just went through an extensive repair with my '03 4.4i, which included a water pump replacement as part of the overall work being done. The water pump was about $215 for parts. On the overall bill, labor was about the same as parts. So adding in taxes and such, figure a water pump replacement at a repair shop would be around $450 or so. YMMV.
